Science and Faith

Science and Faith

Can Science and Religion coexist? For years this question has divided people into two camps: those who look for answers to the “what, how, and when” questions, and others who seek to understand the “why.” Science is the pursuit of knowledge about the physical world through observation and experimentation. Religion is the pursuit of meaning and purpose through a belief in God. Today, there are many notable scientists who do believe that Science and Religion can coexist. The documentary, “Science and Faith” features four scientists from different disciplines and backgrounds who all share a strong faith in God. They wrestle with questions about the conflict between science and faith, how their belief in God intersects with their work, and how to view the Bible in light of their scientific knowledge. The documentary will introduce you to: Dr. James Tourm, a synthetic organic chemist, Dr. Pat Reiff, Professor of Physics and Astronomy, and the Director of the Rice Space Institute at Rice University, Dr. Ian Hutchinson, Professor of Nuclear Science and Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Dr. Jennifer Wiseman, a senior astrophysicist and Senior Project Scientist for the Hubble Space Telescope.
